Smoked Beef Jerky

A recipe so good, even my vegetarian friend ate half a pound!!

Ok, we have all been there…you are on a road trip and it’s time to stop for some gas. You enter the gas station, grab a drink, and peruse the snack aisle pretending like you don’t already have your mind made up…. it’s Jerky Time!

The problem with buying jerky at a story is the price tag is high, and the bag seems to disappear before you could satisfy that craving. The solution – making incredible beef jerky at home is easy and only requires a few ingredients!

Instructions

  • Trim any excess fat off the meat and put in freezer for 20 minutes (this will make it easier to slice)
  • Remove the meat and thinly slice into strips against the grain (as thin as possible!)
  • Lightly tenderize the strips of meat and add to a 1 gallon ziploc bag
  • Add the soy sauce, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder to the bag and shake it up well. Place in the fridge and let marinate for 4 hours
  • Pre-heat the grill to 190 degrees. Once at temp, lay out the beef and cook for 2 hours. Flip each slice of beef and cook for another 2 hours
  • Remove from the grill and ENJOY!!
