Is there ever an age where chicken tenders aren’t delicious? If there is, I never want to grow that old, because I love them…. especially when they are homemade!
Be honest, when you make your kids some chicken tenders for dinner does a little part of you want to eat a whole plateful yourself? My answer is 100%. The best part is, with this recipe you both can be happy. These are way better than your average store bought frozen tenders. They are fresh, crispy, and the Cajun Seasoning gives them just the right amount on subtle zing!
Chicken – The prefect type of chicken to use for this recipe is the raw chicken tenders. If you need to you can slice up some chicken breast, but the tenders make the prep a little easier! For best results, don’t skip the step of letting the chicken soak in the buttermilk mixture. 20 minutes+ is preferred!
Breading – After the chicken has marinated, make sure you really coat the chicken in the flour mixture. The more clumps that form the better. But you for sure don’t want any raw chicken exposed because that will make the meat come out tougher after cooking in the oil!
**Need this one Gluten Free? No problem at all! Simply replace the flour with Gluten Free flour (my go to is Bob’s Red Mill)
Hope the whole family loves this recipe (or just you, I won’t tell, I promise!)
Enjoy!
