When I put this video together, I had no idea so many of you would love it! 5.5 million views are crazy for a mimosa, but I am glad it was so popular. We enjoyed these at our family holiday party, and if you haven’t tried them yet, I hope you do!
Mimosas aren’t a new party drink, but sometimes a few moments of prep can really make the visual side of them pop! (No pun intended.) That is what we planned for these, and let me tell you, they were a hit!
If you are looking to make these for your own party, check out below for a few tips and drinks to make sure you and your guests really enjoy them:
- Champagne choice – This one is going to be up to the consumer. Obviously, cranberry juice can come off a little drier (hence the simple syrup). For this reason, some folks may prefer a spumante, prosecco, or asti-style champagne. If you are more like us, we actually prefer this one to be a little drier and look to a brut. Even better, make a bunch and try a few different options!
- Adding the greens – Man, did I receive a lot of feedback on the rosemary. I didn’t realize how many people have a major dislike of the herb. We loved it and did not feel that it changed the taste at all. If you disagree, you can absolutely find an alternative. To me, I think a great option would be mint! (Pairing that with strawberries in the summer would be great!)
- The fruits! – In the winter, I always feel like cranberry and pomegranate fit right in, hence why I chose those. As you can see, I also added raspberries and listed strawberries as optional. Go with your gut; I don’t think you can go wrong.
- Ice Cube Tray – Using the donut baking sheet worked perfectly to give it the complete ‘ring” appearance. You could also do a large rock cube or sphere.
- Pro Tip: If you can’t get the ring out of the tray, fill a baking sheet with hot water and set the ice cube tray in it for 5 seconds. They should now pop right out!
