Sweet & Salty Martini

I’m not always one for the super sweet, desserty (that’s not a real word) cocktails. But when you can get espresso, Buffalo Trace, and a cream liqueur together it’s pretty tough to not love it!

Typically, my martini of choice is something strong, dry, and for a lot of people tastes like a pine tree. If I’m not drinking a gin martini, I do dabble in a Manhattan or two. That being said, with the dark chocolate syrup from Torani, and the high amount of bourbon, this one is really really good! Here’s what you’ll need for this one:

Coffee – Having a really strong coffee or an espresso is the key. Don’t worry, with all the other liquid that gets added in it doesn’t have too strong of a coffee flavor. But that is exactly why you need a strong cup.

Whiskey/Bourbon – I love Buffalo Trace. It is full of great flavor and when you can find it, the price is more than fair. If you can’t find it, just pick your favorite. I would try to keep it under 90 proof so it doesn’t overpower the rest of the drink

Cream Liqueur – For my drink I used Buffalo Trace’s Bourbon Cream (it is so good even to sip by itself). If you can’t find it, or like a different one (like Bailey’s), go for it!

Flavored Rim – Melt your chocolate chips on a plate and apply a thick rim of chocolate. That way when it’s time to add on the crunched up pretzels there is a nice coating!

I hope you enjoy this drink, just don’t have it too late or your won’t be able to fall asleep!

Enjoy!
