When you cook the steak like this, you may question why you ever need to go out for a steak dinner again. The key is in the slow cooked onions, and making sure you cook the steak to the right temperature!
I understand that my statement above is pretty bold, but I promise you that this steak will change the game for you. Obviously the nice thing about ordering the steak out it that you don’t have to cook or clean, but this is so good and the cleanup is minimal. Two things that set this meal up for success – The Steak and The Onions
Steak – Let’s talk about the steak first. Number one is the steak type and quality. I always try to use a cut of Filet Mignon. This the most tender cut and sets the meal up for success. When it comes to cooking the steak, the easiest way to get the perfect temperature is to use an instant temp thermometer. I like mine from ThermoPro. Medium Rare is 135 degree internal temp. Remember that it keeps cooking after you pull it off the grill (usually 5 degrees), so you want to pull it BEFORE it reaches your favorite temperature
Onions – LOW & SLOW. I cannot stress this enough. The longer you let your onions soak in the flavors on their way to golden goodness, the better. If you want you can also slice up some mushrooms and toss those in!
**MAKING GLUTEN FREE** Lucky for you, everything on this one is GF. Just enjoy!
I can’t wait for you all to try this one and please tag me if you make it and drop a comment below!
